last chance

By this time next week we should know the baby's gender. If you've got any guesses (or suggestions...?), this is pretty much your last opportunity to get them to me.

new things and old things

Matt and I bought a car. Woo! It's a blue 2001 Subaru Forester, and I am excited about the automatic transmission and the four doors. This is a car we can fit a baby in. I will put up pictures after I take them.

Our microwave kind of pooted out, right in the middle of a bag of popcorn. We will have to get a new one...a better one.

I'm almost 19 weeks along, and not yet showing enough for anyone to really notice. I'm getting close, though. I haven't felt any definite movement yet, but that could just be because I haven't been listening to enough rock lately.

grocery list

I keep a pad of paper on top of the fridge so that I can write down things that we need to buy next time we go shopping. Since Matt and I were about to head out, I pulled it down to see what we were after. This is what was on the list:

bread
donut holes
mascara
thing
cheese
cereal
oranges

Did you catch that in the middle? I have no idea what I had in mind when I wrote down "thing," but we bought one anyway since it seemed important.

stupid business trips

Matt is out of town for the rest of the week, off in California doing some kind of work related thing. It's been maybe six hours since he left for the airport and already this week feels like it's going to be long and lonely. But, while rummaging through the cupboard for a food-type thing, I found a note he left for me telling me how much he loves me and how lucky he is. I won't tell you exactly what he says, but the word "golly" is in there. I'm lucky too. :)
