...and we're back.

Ah, Hawaii!
We had an ocean view room, so this is what we got to see out of our windows every day:

...sort of:

On the beach:

At the pool:

Hiking to Manoa Falls:

At the Pearl Harbor Memorial:

At the Honolulu Zoo, where there were GINORMOUS tortoises doing slow and sexy things...

In closing, we had good times but now we are all very tired and glad to be home.  No babies were sunburned in the making of this post.

Work perks

We are leaving today for a week-long business trip...to Hawaii!

Woo!

Of course we are taking the baby.

A short conversation on LOTR.

Me: Samwise Gamgee had like eleven kids.

Matt: He was, how do you say...made-up.

We had an air mattress, but it still counts as camping. I think.

We took Izzy real camping for the first time.  By "real camping" I mean that we slept outside in a place that was not our own backyard.  This place was far away and had cows.  Mountain cows.

It reminded me of home.  Also, it reminded me that cows are capable of making a lot of weird noises.

Home sweet home

I've been tootling about lately, doing my own little things.  Obviously I have not been on here.

My new favorite thing to do is look at houses.  Especially ones that are for sale.  I like to look at a $350,000 house and say things like, "That place looks TERRIBLE!  I would never live there!" and then come home to my two-bedroom, ugly brick duplex feeling smug.  Seriously, I could mock other peoples' vastly superior homes for hours.

I've also been doodling the plans for my dream home.  It's got a fire pole and a library.  Someday Matt and I will build it, in a place where no matter which side of the house you are on the sun is setting right outside your window.
