maybe it's psychological...

Sometimes I retch/gag at work, more often in the grocery store, and occasionally in the car. But in most cases I don't. It seems, however, that once I walk in my front door the polite constraints of society no longer hold me back.

Worse than the front door, though, is the bathroom door. Just walking into the ceramic sanctuary makes me gag. That is where I keep my toilet (for vomiting) and my toothbrush, which half the time precedes the vomiting. If I retch more than twice while brushing my teeth there's a good chance that I'll soon be on my knees. Which raises other unpleasant questions: I just threw up, I know, but do I really have to brush my teeth again? It just feels so self-defeating.

This post is brought to you by the recently-acquired Scope: That just-brushed feeling without the nausea!

So sorry you're doing the "morning" sickness thing. Hope it passes soon.

Don't brush your teeth after throwing up! (Do rinse, though!) Brushing your teeth when you still have all of the acid in your mouth is very bad for your teeth. (This little fact courtesy of experience.)
