three weeks

That's about how long it has been since my last post. So...to fill in:

We were in Orlando for a week for a conference that just barely included radars (which is what Matt's job is all about). Matt presented a paper and made some good company contacts, and I got to swim in the awesome pool and sleep in a huge bed, so the trip was a success. We did not go to Disney World or any other amusement parks; we actually didn't even leave the hotel. In our defense, it was a very large hotel and we are also trying to save money. We are cool like that, planning for the future.

Spring has been sneaking in, so the other day we bought a loaf of french bread, some parmesan/artichoke/jalepeno dip, and a box of fruit roll-ups and had a picnic in the park. We played frisbee until it made my hands hurt, and then went home and made juice. Mmmm...juice.

Also, there are maybe three people who read this blog, and two of those people are related to me. So this next bit of news is really only news for Holly, who is indeed the third person. This month I got to hear my baby's heartbeat for the first time! :) It was a tiny whoob-whoob-whoob sound and very delightful. As of today I am almost 15 weeks along, so we don't know the gender yet and people around me can't tell. But come October 19th hopefully there will be a new person in our family. A little person.

It's been a pretty good three weeks.
