Yesterday I saw a stinking MOUSE in our basement. I moved a blanket that was left lying in the middle of the floor, it ran out, and (I am ashamed to say) I screamed like a little girl. I was very startled and it was VERY fast.
Historically speaking, I am fond of mice. However, this one was not invited into our home. So even if it is a stinking cute mouse, we'll have to get rid of it.
I chased it around for awhile with a colander and a cookie sheet, but it is probably for the best that it magically disappeared. I do not know what I would have done if I had somehow caught it. We'll put down trappity traps tonight. Wish us luck!

I once chased a mouse around one of the houses I lived in while single. My tools of choice? A spatula and yellow rubber gloves. It got away :(...not sure I would have been able to hit it hard enough to kill it with a spatula anyways. I'm glad to hear that someone else has crazy ideas like me!
Wendy used to use "humane" traps where you catch a mouse alive and then let them go. Somehow they always ended up back in the house! Finally she just gave in and used the SNAP kind. They work fabulously! Kind of icky though once you catch one. Ew.
